Two things all ghost hunters should know

Demonic Possession

It's extremely rare that you will ever hear of a full-fledged demonic possession. But it is something that all ghost hunters need to be aware of and briefed on. Full-possession requires an "invitation" in order to gain a foothold. However, there are activities that can be construed as an invitation. i.e. Ouija boards, séances, etc. A person with heavy addictions, sins, depression or someone who is desperately lonely are more apt to be targets. When any type of invitation is construed, whether implied or direct, it may very well be acted upon by such evil entities. Even with all that, it's still rare that evil will triumph successfully, but it is possible in some cases. Ghost hunters are somewhat susceptible because of the nature of their work.

Lower Level Entities

There are other less severe life forms that we need to be aware of as well. They are evil and are here to weaken the population through their influence. Their ultimate goal is to distract us from our life duties and make us as unproductive as possible. These creatures are subtle but very much determined. People that allow themselves to be heavily influenced in this direction are also more prone to demonic possession. This type of entity uses distraction through such things as computers, video games, unwholesome activities, etc. If you miss out on important family outings or you lose your job because you want to stay home and play video games, etc, then they have gained some control. It's called, lower level possession.

Ouija boards are horrible. I won't even allow something like that in my house. I had a bad experience with one of those when I was a kid playing with my friends. However, I have blocked it and couldn't even say what happened. All I remember is that it was very bad. I completely agree with what you say about the invitation. It can bring nothing but bad things!

In various religious studies, these types of things are represented with similar descriptions if even differently named. One such name is a Jinni. In plural, they are known as Jinn. This particular name for them are found in the religion of Islam. I've spoken to people from middle-eastern countries who told me that they knew someone who had been possessed by just such an entity. It made them weak and sick, and caused them to behave in an uncharacteristic manner. And they actually had to be exorcised by a Shiekh who specialized in the field. There is also one in some Islamic beliefs that is known as Dajjal, which is essentially like the "Anti-Christ" of Christianity. Not all Muslims believe in Dajjal, as it is strictly named only in the Hadeeth and not in the Quran.

The demons listed among the Hindu beliefs are various, mostly stemming from Kali. And the list goes on when it comes to the religious implications of evil. Every system of belief has an opposing force, even atheism. The opposing force within atheism is essentially evil itself. The lack of human compassions and the presence of chaos and destruction even in nature itself. One of the leading reasons why some people are atheist is because they can't believe that God exists with the presence of so much evil. I personally feel atheism is more illogical than to believe in God. Because to everything there are two parts. Good and Evil, like light and dark, up and down, positive and negative. Even science which most atheists cling to as proof of no God, offers proof of this point of fact that all things have two parts. And if they believe in evil, they have to believe in almighty good. However, they often use the probe at religious people saying "Why do you have to believe you'll have some great reward in heaven in order to assert you to do good?" For me, the fact that atheism allows for that point of view "If I don't get caught, I don't get punished and I'm free to do as I please." And this very attitude has caused great evil in human nature.

When it comes to dealing with negative entities in the field of paranormal investigation, I think it's essential that we realize, these things are looking for a reason to exist. If they feel they can enjoy spoiling your life by latching onto you and controlling you, they will. And if you want to avoid this happening to you, you have to keep one thing inside your mind at all times. They will only attach themselves if you let them. And if you feel that presence around you after leaving a paranormal location, the best thing to do is pay it absolutely no mind. The less attention you give that entity, the more bored it will get with you and will leave you alone. And it's recommended that whatever you believe in religiously, you pick up a religious text and read it out loud, clearing your thoughts of anything negative.
